Close an accounting period
Close transitions a period from state open to closed and generates the closing entries. The period must exist and be open. Run bus period close --period <period>; optional --post-date defaults to the last date of the period.
Owner: bus period.
This action is required in bookkeeping so the register can be used as a deterministic input for posting, period-based review, and audit navigation.
